Di's Dialogue # 20
Just a brief 'Di's Dialogue today as it is all happening! The LRH Virtual Fun Run Walk was held this morning and the Moe Rotarians team completed the 5km walk along the Rail Trail at a leisurely pace. The team, Rog Taylor, Maureen and Alan Bishop, Robin Noakes, Ross Maxfield, Bill Connell, Jocelyn Yeatman and myself, enjoyed the event and together we raised $360.00 for Latrobe Regional Hospital.
On Monday night, we held our AGM. The members present endorsed the motion for the current President , Secretary, Treasurer to continue their club leadership roles. I thank Maureen and Helen for being prepared to give another year of service to our club.
It was also our Club Assembly and thank you to those who provided updates regarding club activities to the general club membership. We also had an 'At the Podium' presentation by Helen MacDonald who spoke about her connections to the Rotary Club of Buhl, Idaho.
As I said, a brief 'Dialogue' today as I have two very special little visitors who are needing lunch!! Our grandsons, Henry (6 yrs) and Oscar (4 yr) are helping their dad (Matthew) and Grandpa build a garden shed!! Last check, everything was going well.
I look forward to seeing fellow Rotarians who are able to make it along to our Social BBQ in the Botanic Gardens on Monday (30 Nov). Secretary Maureen has sent out an email with details but here is a brief reminder: Meeting time is 6.00pm for 6.30pm start. BYO drink, nibbles, salad. Sausages and hamburgers will be supplied by the club.
Now that we are allowed to meet face to face at indoor venues, we have been able to secure Old Gippstown for our Christmas breakup on Monday 14th December.
The evening will commence at 6.00 for 6.30 with Santa and his helper arriving soon after 6.30.
A bbq tea and dessert will be provided. Members to bring their own drinks.
If you are bringing any children along, please organise a gift for Santa to hand to them. Also, as in previous years, members can buy a gift for their partner to receive from Santa.
The venue can cater for a total of 58 people only (including children). Please let Maureen know if you will be coming along.
As this coming Monday, 30th November, is the 5th Monday of the month, it provides a great opportunity for our club to finally have a face to face catch up.
A social get together will be held at the Botanic Gardens for all members and partners who wish to come along for a bbq tea at 6.00 for 6.30 start.
The club will supply sausages and hamburgers. Members to bring their own salad, nibblies, drinks and glass. It may also be a good idea to bring along a chair so we can spread out and adhere to social distancing rules.
For catering purposes, please phone, text or email Maureen (0419 389050) prior to Sunday night, if you will be attending.
Moe Rotarians are "People Of Action", led by President Di, at the LRH Virtual Fun Run and Walk, on Saturday 28 November at Moe the Moe Rail Trail, raising funds for the LRH Emergency Department
